Safety Watch Services

Under Occupational Health & Safety Regulations - Confined Space Safety Watch attendants are required to play a key role in managing the safety of the entrants.

Over the years it has become apparent that entering confined spaces carries a high degree of risk for workers. As is often the case, the most junior and/or least skilled worker is given the responsibility of being the Safety Watch.

Our professional Safety Watch Attendants are mature, skilled individuals who are capable of managing your confined space entries. Each of our attendants has received training that allows them to be effective at what they do. In addition, our personnel receive refresher training at least once a year. They are also trained in the use of Atmosphere Monitoring Devices and the comprehensive training they receive gives them a keen sense of their abilities and the responsibilities they undertake.

It is our belief that our Safety Watch Services can enhance your operations respecting entries into confined spaces. Our personnel are prepared to strictly enforce your policies and procedures so that everyone involved is adequately protected.

If you require Confined Space Policies and Procedures to be developed, we can assist you. Related training for your personnel can also be provided, so that they can confidently enter a confined space. In addition, they will develop a clear understanding of Occupational Health and Safety requirements and your policies and procedures.

Our Safety Watch Services are provided as follows:

Safety Watch Attendant Services:
- Review of Policies and Procedures for entry.
- Assist the supervisor in developing an entry plan.
- Assist the supervisor in developing a rescue plan.
- Documenting the entry and rescue plan.
- Review the entry and rescue plans with entrants.
- Maintain the accurate entry log.
- Maintain an accurate Atmosphere Gas Test Log.
- Observe all activities of entrants.
- Ensure all appropriate P.P.E. requirements are met.
- Maintain communication with entrants.
- Designated first Aid Attendant.

Safety Watch Attendant and Atmosphere Testing Services:
- Perform all tasks related to Safety Watch Attendant.
- Probe a confined space with appropriate gas test equipment from outside.
- Where the probe method is inadequate, enter the confined space to conduct a complete atmosphere check.

Stand By Rescue Services:
- Minimum two (2) person rescue team on standby with appropriate P.P.E. to make a safe entry, assess injuries and remove the victim. This service can be provided under a number of different scenarios.
